Isla's 13th Birthday

Today we celebrate Isla’s 13th birthday. If you knew Isla, then you know how much she loved a celebration! (and how much she loved cake!). If you knew her – you know she was joy personified. She had a wild imagination! She was full of curiousity, full of wonder. She was kind. She was magic! She had PRESENCE. Often when she would walk into a room it felt like she was sprinkling fairy dust – you know the kind that Tinkerbell has? It would be impossible not to be touched by it! She could brighten even the stormiest of days. And even to this day she is still touching people. She is still spreading that fairy dust! She is still spreading her sunshine – even by just looking at her picture we can feel her joy continue to radiate. She was always a “hands up” girl just like in these pictures! So much good has been put in the world because of her – then and now. That is powerful! I used to feel the saying “she may be small, but she is fierce” was written just for her.

Today we hope that you do something to put some love and joy into the world in her honor! We hope you celebrate her, but also celebrate the gift of a precious day. We hope you tell people you love them, squeeze them a little tighter. We hope you say hello to your neighbor, help someone out, give someone a reason to smile.

We are grateful for the love and support. For helping us keep her legacy going, for remembering her, for helping to make a difference in her honor.
